Prof. Ioannis Deliyannis is a Professor at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at Ionian University, Corfu, Greece, and serves as the Director of the Institute for Games Research (IGR). He specializes in interactive multimedia technologies, focusing on both analogue and digital systems for art, culture, and education. As the founder and director of IGR, he leads research in game design, AI-driven digital storytelling, interactive installations, and educational technologies. He holds a PhD in multimedia systems and has played a pivotal role in shaping interdisciplinary programs that integrate arts, computer science, and humanities. Deliyannis is the chief architect behind the MSc in Game Design and Development and supervises numerous postgraduate and doctoral projects in AI, transmedia, and serious games. He has coordinated national and international research initiatives related to games, culture, and education and serves as principal investigator in EU and Greek funded projects focusing on AI ethics, cultural heritage digitization, and game-based learning. He is also the lead academic developer for continuing education programs (ΚΕΔΙΒΙΜ) featuring modules on gamification, immersive media, and applied AI. His research extends to interactive and immersive media systems, artificial intelligence in cultural contexts, digital storytelling, transmedia, game design, gamification in education, augmented and virtual reality applications, and serious games and simulation environments. Over the years, he has contributed significantly to the advancement of digital and interactive media in both academic and applied contexts.
