Assoc. Prof. Dr. Francesco Bellanti is an Italian physician–scientist at the University of Foggia with a Medical Degree, Specialty in Internal Medicine, and a PhD in Clinical, Medical and Experimental Sciences, complemented by international training through Erasmus, postdoctoral, and visiting fellowships in Spain, France, and the UK. His research focuses on liver disease, aging, redox biology, mitochondrial dysfunction, and metabolic disorders, supported by multiple competitive grants and prestigious awards from national and European scientific societies. He has served as principal or co-investigator in several national and multicentre clinical registries and trials, including studies on diabetes, COVID-19, primary biliary cholangitis, and polypharmacy. Dr. Bellanti has extensive teaching experience across medicine, emergency medicine, and internal medicine for multiple health disciplines, with regular visiting professorships across Europe. He has been actively involved in postgraduate supervision, mentoring PhD students, medical residents, and undergraduate students in medicine, nutrition, and allied health sciences.
