Prof. Dr. Soonmin Ho is a distinguished Malaysian academic and researcher in Materials Chemistry, currently serving as Associate Professor at INTI International University since April 2010. He obtained his B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry, M.Sc. in Materials Chemistry, and Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry from Universiti Putra Malaysia between 1998 and 2010. His research focuses on thin film materials, solar cells, electrochemical energy storage, and nanostructured materials, leading multiple national research grants as Principal Investigator and contributing as Co-Investigator. He has extensive experience in the preparation and characterization of nickel and cobalt-based thin films using chemical bath deposition and SILAR methods, with significant work on photovoltaic and pseudocapacitor applications. Over the years, he has received numerous national and international awards, including the Young Scientist Award (2016), International Best Researcher in Green Chemistry (2019), World Top Scientists’ Awards (2023), and multiple Outstanding Researcher and Reviewer Awards through 2025. His consistent excellence in research, innovation, and peer review has earned him global recognition, including the SIR C.V. Raman Award 2025 and ERA Asian Research Excellence Award 2025 in Science.
