Dr. Dino Pitoski is an applied network science researcher and academic with interdisciplinary expertise spanning migration studies, operations management, logistics, and data-driven policy analysis. He holds a PhD with distinction in Migration Studies from Danube University Krems, focusing on complex networks of human migration for European policy input, and completed advanced PhD training in Operations Management and Logistics at Eindhoven University of Technology. His academic background also includes MSc degrees in Business Administration and Transport Technology, with strong foundations in finance, logistics, and quantitative methods. Professionally, he has served as a postdoctoral researcher, lecturer, and research assistant at the University of Rijeka and Danube University Krems, and as a research associate at Statistics Netherlands, working on large-scale population, social cohesion, and migration network analyses. Alongside academia, he is the owner and director of PEOPLET Ltd., providing consultancy on transferring network science tools to business and government, while also engaging in software development. His earlier industry experience includes executive, controlling, ERP implementation, and logistics roles across manufacturing, retail, and freight-forwarding sectors in Croatia and Slovenia.
