Dr. Murugendrappa M V is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Physics at BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru. He earned his Bachelor’s degree with distinction in 1996 from Gulbarga University, securing the highest marks in the entire college. He went on to complete his Master’s degree in Physics in 1998 with First Rank and a Gold Medal. Dr. Murugendrappa received his PhD in Physics in 2006 from Gulbarga University. With over 22 years of teaching experience, he has made significant contributions to the field of conducting polymer composites, publishing 59 refereed journal articles and 42 conference proceedings. He has guided four PhD students and is one of the principal investigators of the Center of Excellence in Advanced Materials with research grants exceeding β‚Ή700 lakhs.

Continuing his academic journey, he obtained an M.Phil. in Physics in 1999, once again achieving top marks in the department. Driven by his passion for research, Dr. Murugendrappa earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics from Gulbarga University in 2006, focusing on advanced studies in conducting polymer composites. His academic achievements and dedication laid a strong foundation for his distinguished career in teaching and research.

Dr. Murugendrappa M V has held various prestigious administrative and academic roles throughout his career. He has served as the Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Physics at BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru, for 6 years and 7 months, where he played a pivotal role in the department's growth and academic development. In addition, he contributed to the institution as the Deputy Controller of Examinations for 1 year and 9 months, overseeing the examination processes. As the Chief Coordinator for Semester End Examinations for programs such as BE, B.Arch, MBA, and MCA in the autonomous stream, he successfully coordinated 04 exams and managed essential tasks, such as question paper typing and proofreading.

Dr. Murugendrappa is also an active reviewer for 7 international journals, contributing to the academic community’s quality and rigor. He holds membership in Board of Examiners (BOE) and Board of Studies (BOS) in institutions like NHCE, SIT, BIET, and Presidency University. Furthermore, he serves on the Ph.D. Scrutiny Committee for VTU, Belagavi, providing invaluable input on doctoral research. As an Organizing Chair, he has successfully led 15 Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and an International Conference at BMSCE, promoting knowledge sharing and academic excellence. His comprehensive experience has significantly contributed to the academic and administrative advancements at BMSCE.
