Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sumera Anwar is an accomplished plant scientist with extensive expertise in plant physiology, abiotic stress tolerance, soil pollution, and phytoremediation, currently serving as Associate Professor at Government College Women University Faisalabad, Pakistan. She completed her PhD in Botany from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, focusing on morpho-metabolic responses of maize under cadmium phytoextraction, supported by an Indigenous HEC Scholarship, and later earned three competitive postdoctoral and research fellowships in China and the UK. Her international research experience includes post-doctoral work at Durham University (UK) on auxin-mediated root growth and antioxidant gene profiling under copper nanoparticles, research fellowships at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Huazhong Agricultural University on heat stress physiology in rice and yield improvement in rapeseed-based cropping systems. Dr. Anwar has held academic and research positions at leading institutions including The University of Lahore, GC University Faisalabad, China National Rice Research Institute, and Yantai High-Tech International Science and Technology Park under the Talented Young Scientist Program. Her research interests span plant stress physiology, heavy-metal remediation, photosynthesis and water-use efficiency, biochar-based soil health improvement, soil microbial interactions, and sustainable yield enhancement strategies. She has received several honors including HEC scholarship awards, international GRE and IELTS qualifications, and recognition under China’s Ministry of Science and Technology, alongside advanced training in molecular biology, agricultural machinery, kiwifruit production, AI in higher education, and patent filing. Dr. Anwar actively contributes to the scientific community through participation in numerous international conferences, workshops, and symposia across Pakistan, China, Turkey, and the UK, reflecting her strong commitment to global research collaboration and capacity building.

He began his academic journey at Siirt University, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 2009. His academic journey began as a research assistant at Istanbul University from 2013 to 2018, where he worked on various research projects that led to his Ph.D. studies.
