Deborah Ishaku is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Climate Change and Human Habitat through the West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL). She holds a Master of Technology in Environmental Management (2019) from the Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria. She earned her B.Sc. in Geography, Second Class Upper Division (2014) from Gombe State University, Nigeria. In 2021, she completed a Certificate in French Language Training from the University of Lome, Togo, which enhances her language skills and global communication. Additionally, Deborah holds a Senior Secondary School Certificate (2008) and a First School Leaving Certificate (2002), providing a solid academic foundation for her career.

Deborah is currently the Dean of the School of General Studies and a Lecturer II at Gombe State Polytechnic since 2024. She has previously worked as a Lecturer III and Assistant Lecturer at the same institution, with experience spanning from 2017 to 2023. Her early career includes serving as a Geography Tutor during her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Sule Lamido University in Jigawa State. She also contributed to extra-moral classes and community service projects.
