Prof. Dr. Dimitrinka Nikolova is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Catalysis, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia, with extensive expertise in heterogeneous catalysis and hydrogen energy technologies. Since 2016, he has led the development and industrial implementation of non-noble and base metal anodic catalysts for alkaline fuel cells, alongside advancing cathode catalysts for green ammonia synthesis and bifunctional HER/OER systems. He currently serves as Project Manager of national and international clean hydrogen initiatives, including projects under the Bulgarian National Recovery and Sustainability Plan and collaborations with GenCell Ltd., Israel. As President of the Bulgarian Catalysis Society and member of the Executive Board of the HITMOBIL Centre of Competence, he actively contributes to clean energy innovation and policy-oriented research. His work focuses on nano-sized supported metal and oxide catalysts for environmental protection, hydrogen production, CO conversion, methanation, and sustainable fuel technologies. With a PhD in Chemistry and decades of research experience, he is also a reviewer for leading international journals in catalysis, energy, and hydrogen technologies.

Dr. El Mokhtar El Hafidi is a Civil Protection Captain and researcher at the Laboratory of Engineering Sciences for Energy (LabSIPE), Chouaïb Doukkali University, El Jadida, Morocco, specializing in renewable energy applications for wastewater recovery, sustainable materials, and environmental risk management. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Physics and Energy Engineering and has led and contributed to six major research projects focused on renewable energy integration, eco-efficient wastewater treatment, and the valorization of industrial by-products for civil engineering. Dr. El Hafidi has published 18 peer-reviewed scientific papers in indexed journals and delivered 12 oral communications at international conferences, reflecting his active engagement in the scientific community. His research impact is evidenced by 236+ Google Scholar citations and an h-index of 8, supported by collaborations with Moroccan academic institutions and the Jorf Lasfar thermal power plant. He has developed innovative processes using fly ash, metallic slags, and sludge to produce eco-efficient construction materials, advancing circular economy and low-carbon development strategies. His solar-powered desalination and sustainable distillation systems contribute to improving water recovery efficiency in resource-constrained environments. He holds patent filings on wastewater reuse using metallurgical by-products (N°70757–14/02/2025) and their application in marine civil engineering structures. Dr. El Hafidi serves as a reviewer for leading journals including Desalination, MDPI journals, International Journal of Environmental Research, Journal of Water Process Engineering, Sustainable Chemistry – One World, and Water, Air & Soil Pollution. A member of the Moroccan Association of Environmental Engineering, he actively promotes scientific innovation aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly clean water, affordable energy, responsible resource use, and climate adaptation. His work demonstrates a strong link between laboratory research and practical field solutions to support Morocco’s ecological transition and environmental sustainability.
