He then completed a BS and Certificate in Physical Therapy at UCSF, San Francisco (1978-1979), which provided him with foundational expertise in rehabilitation and movement sciences. Dr. Reitman later obtained his MD in Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine (1991-1995), where he developed a strong foundation in clinical practice and surgical techniques. Following medical school, he specialized in orthopedic surgery through a residency at Baylor College of Medicine (1995-2000), refining his skills in musculoskeletal care. To further specialize, he completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Surgery Spine at Baylor College of Medicine (2000-2001), gaining advanced training in complex spinal procedures.

Dr. Charles A. Reitman has had a distinguished career in orthopedic surgery, with extensive experience in both academic and clinical settings. Since 2015, he has served as a Professor of Orthopaedics at the Medical College of South Carolina, where he contributes to research, education, and advanced spinal surgery techniques.
