Dr. habil. László GÁSPÁR is a distinguished Hungarian civil engineer, researcher, and professor emeritus renowned for his expertise in road engineering, pavement and bridge management, and sustainability in infrastructure. He has made an exceptional impact in academia and research through decades of groundbreaking contributions to transport engineering and infrastructure sustainability. He currently serves as a research professor at the KTI Hungarian Institute for Transport Sciences and Logistics and an emeritus professor at Széchenyi István University. 🎓 Education

Dr. Gáspár earned dual Master of Science degrees from the Technical University of Budapest, first in Civil Engineering (1966) and then in Economic Engineering within the Transport Faculty (1970). His academic journey continued with a Technical University Doctorate (1972), followed by a PhD (Candidate of Technical Sciences, 1979) and a Doctor of Technical Sciences (DSc, 1991). He achieved his habilitation in 1997 and was promoted to full university professor in 2000. He also holds a Euro-engineer diploma (1992) and received an honorary doctorate from Széchenyi István University in 2019.

With over five decades of professional engagement, Dr. Gáspár's roles span across academia, industry, and public policy. He led soil stabilization and asphalt groups in the 1960s and later directed road laboratories and conducted pioneering research in pavement condition evaluation. His international experience includes study tours in Germany and the USA (Darmstadt, Stuttgart, Berkeley, Ann Arbor). Since 1990, he has chaired or participated in numerous global conferences, led or reviewed 12+ EU-funded projects, and served on scientific committees and doctoral councils. His dedication to research mentoring is evidenced by supervising both Hungarian and international PhD candidates.

Prof. Dr. Sufen Dong is currently serving as an Associate Professor at the School of Transportation and Logistics, Dalian University of Technology, a position she has held since 2021. Prior to this, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the School of Material Science and Engineering at the same university between 2019 and 2021, where she furthered her research in material sciences as applied to transportation and logistics. Earlier in her career, she worked as a lecturer at the School of Civil Engineering, Inner Mongolia University of Technology, from 2009 to 2014, laying the groundwork for her academic and research contributions in engineering.
