Dr. Laetitia Gahimbare is a medical doctor specialized in Clinical Pathology and Epidemiology with over 20 years of experience in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance, laboratory systems strengthening, and public health preparedness across Africa. She currently serves as Technical Officer for AMR Surveillance, Evidence and Laboratory Strengthening at the WHO Regional Office for Africa, providing strategic and hands-on leadership to 47 Member States. A recognized expert in GLASS implementation, AMR/AMU surveillance, laboratory quality management, and One Health approaches, she has extensive experience translating surveillance data into policy-relevant evidence.
