Research Interests 🔬

Aesthetic Dentistry

Dr. Ferrando's research is primarily focused on aesthetic dentistry, which aims to restore and enhance the natural appearance of teeth. His work emphasizes creating dental solutions that not only improve the function but also mimic the natural look of the tooth structure, ensuring that the aesthetic results are both functional and visually pleasing.

Biomimetic Restorative Materials

One of Dr. Ferrando’s key research areas is the development of biomimetic restorative materials. These materials are designed to closely replicate the natural composition and structure of teeth, promoting better integration with the tooth surface and improving the longevity and effectiveness of restorative treatments.

Mechanics of Dental Adhesives

Dr. Ferrando delves into the mechanics of dental adhesives, studying how adhesive systems interact with different types of dental tissues, particularly dentin affected by caries. His research aims to improve the bonding capabilities of dental adhesives, ensuring better performance in real-world clinical settings and reducing the risk of failure over time.

Implantology Research

Dr. Ferrando is also actively involved in implantology research, focusing on the development of innovative techniques and materials for dental implants. His work includes exploring ways to improve implant success rates and enhance the overall performance of dental implants, making them more durable and effective for patients.

Development of Tooth-Simulating Materials

An important aspect of Dr. Ferrando's research is the creation of materials that simulate the natural structure of teeth. This research seeks to develop new restorative materials that can replicate the natural aesthetics, function, and resilience of teeth, providing patients with durable and lifelike restorations.
